What We Stand For

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • We believe in the American Constitution, the doctrine of the separation of powers, and the principle of checks and balances. We do not believe the American presidency is a dictatorship.
  • We do not believe the Department of Justice should be politicized. We do not believe the President has the authority to dictate investigations, charging decisions, or sentencing recommendations.
  • We believe there must be accountability for all corrupt, illegal actions that undermine American democracy and the legal system.
  • We do not believe in an extreme, undemocratic doctrine of presidential power that has no legal boundaries.

COMPETENCE

  • We believe the President should be able to competently handle domestic, foreign, and global issues.
  • We believe the President’s handling of the current crisis is the perfect example of his lack of competence when it comes to matters of global significance.
  • We do not believe the President should have underplayed the seriousness of a deadly virus. We do not believe coronavirus is a “hoax,” and instead there should be acknowledgment of its severity and, further, there must be a coordinated effort to tackle a public health crisis amongst the 50 states. Wearing a mask shouldn’t be a politicized issue: masks are proven to be effective protection against coronavirus. The American public shouldn’t receive contradictory messages from public health officials and the President.
  • We do not believe the President should publicly criticize and undermine public health officials. We also do not believe in whimsical, unproven treatment options such as injecting disinfectant or using UV light. We do not believe the President should inaccurately state that COVID-19 “affects virtually nobody.”
  • We believe in science and heeding the advice of health officials. We believe an effective approach to addressing a public health crisis must be clear, consistent, and based on science.
  • We do not believe that 226,000 American lives should have been lost through Presidential ineptitude and an inadequate coronavirus response.

EQUALITY

  • We believe America is based on the principle of equality for everyone. The President debases this by his conduct and his rhetoric.
  • We do not believe the President should refer African nations as “shithole countries,” tell congresswomen of color to “go back to where they came from,” or call Mexican immigrants “rapists.”
  • We do not believe the President has “done more for the African American community than any president with the exception of Abraham Lincoln.”
  • We do not believe there were “very fine people on both sides” at a white supremacist and neo-Nazi rally. We do not believe the President should find it difficult to denounce white nationalist groups, and certainly do not believe he should encourage them by telling them to “stand back and stand by.”
  • We believe the President should have strong crisis management skills, empathy for historically marginalized communities, and the will to pursue equal justice for all.
  • We do not believe Black Lives Matter is a symbol of hate, and do not think the President should direct law enforcement to meet protesters with force and violence by stating “When the looting starts the shooting starts.”
  • We believe the President should have a strong moral compass, and a dedication to advancing social progress and equality.
  • We do not believe that the President should brag about getting away with sexual assault. We do not believe the President should regularly disparage and demean women by discussing their appearances rather than their accomplishments, nor that the President should call prominent women “nasty.” We do not believe that only husbands belong in the workplace.

DECENCY

  • We believe it is cruel and unconscionable to implement a “zero tolerance” policy that separates children from their parents with no plan for reunification.

  • We do not believe that the President should brag about getting away with sexual assault. We do not believe the President should regularly disparage and demean women by discussing their appearances rather than their accomplishments, nor that the President should call prominent women “nasty.” We do not believe that only husbands belong in the workplace.

INTEGRITY

  • We believe the President should fearlessly stand up to totalitarianism. We do not believe the President should turn a blind eye to decades of human rights abuses.
  • We do not believe our President should be cozying up to a country that was secretly offering bounties to the Taliban for the deaths of American soldiers. We do not believe the American President should take the word of a foreign adversary over his own US intelligence agencies. And yet, in four years, the President has yet to make one comment criticizing Russian President Putin.
  • We do not believe the President should be congratulating Chinese President Xi for eliminating the two-term limit for the Chinese presidency. We believe that celebrating the Chinese Communist Party, communist rule, and Xi as a “president for life” is deeply un-American and undemocratic.
  • We do not believe that the President should fall “in love” with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. The President has been hoodwinked by “love letters” while this foreign adversary continues to build its nuclear arsenal.
  • Our goal is to prevent the reelection of Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Take Action and support a worthy cause.
